The upcoming 32 Km New Garia - Dum Dum Airport ( or Haldiram ) Metro Corridor is finally free from Encroachment . RVNL said the buildings standing in between the alignment at Mahisbathan will be imploded .
Last week , a school building was demolished . The authority shifted the utilities to some other parts . RVNL is all set to start construction by this week . The 560 metre stretch will need nearly a year to be completed .
Although the depot construction has just started , the 5.5 km New Garia - Ruby Hospital stretch will be first inaugurated , maybe by June 2018 .

why maximum portion of new Kolkata Metro is constructing on upper portion rather than underground? as without pipeline there should not any problem to carry out underground but on upper ground the progression bound to face problems
ReplyDeleteActually Ishan It may seem topically that building an elevated metro takes a larger space than Underground ones but the truth is the reverse elevated metro lines are cheaper they take very little space and even stations can be built covering the roads(as you may have seen in case of east west metro) ... but in case of Underground lines the stations has to be built in cut and cover method which means if the station is being built on a road it will hugely disturb traffic... so underground sections are generally avoided in metro systems unless it is absolutely impossible to build an elevated corridor primarily because of the cost and the problem of large lands for stations is a problem indeed... thanks for reaching out to us for any other query please do contact us and stay tuned to metrorailblog and share like and comment.... thank you...
