Welcome back !! Kolkata was the first city to get a metro system in India, this fact inspired us to start our journey with the vintage city. On a cool October night when the first metro chugged under the feet of kolkatans, the whole country watched in anticipation because it was a beginning, a beginning of the age of modern transport in India and the year was 1984. From 1984 to 2017, Three decades passed making the picture change entirely. The City Of Joy from the seat of supremacy of having metro has shifted to the slowest growing metro system in the country. But the picture is not so bad as it seems to many. The year 2016 particularly has brought some fresh air to the system. With the 5 under construction lines and the extension of the existing one speeding up , the city looks ahead with hope of redeeming its glory……..Updates to be posted for 6 Lines each in 6 installments every month….
